In all weathers
Last year our twelve ‘professional shoppers’ drove 256,000 kilometres and walked over 9,000 kilometres to collect information for our databases. There were 9 days when the temperature did not rise above freezing and 22 days when the temperature was above 25 degrees. Fortunately the number of rainy days was below average last year.
About Locatus
Locatus is the market leader in the field of independently sourced retail information in the Benelux region and currently expanding its working range to Europe.
What we do
Locatus gathers its own data on all retail outlets (over 470.000) and makes this information accessible for its clients through an online database.
The Benelux region
Our field workers conduct
an annual on-site survey of all the shopping areas in the Benelux region. The
name of each outlet, its retail floor area and the retail sector in which it
operates is recorded in the database. The database provides property-level
information, information about shopping and catchment areas, footfall and data that can
be used to generate digital maps.
Europe
We also collect data outside
the Benelux region so we can provide our customers with comparable data on retail
property spread across Europe. By the end of 2012 fifty European cities will be
compiled into an European database. At this very moment over twenty cities such
as Barcelona, Vienna, Stockholm, Munich, Paris have already been surveyed.
The customers who use our data
Our customer base comprises virtually everyone having anything to do with retail property, be this a local authority, retailer, investor, project developer or estate agent. Our data provides them with additional help in decision-making on retail sites.
The people who work for us
Without people there is no data. Our staff are the core of our business. Half of our staff are out every day gathering information for our database. The other half populate the database, check data, produce analyses and reports and confer with clients to establish what information they need.
