"We’re not going to move a store if we found out that fewer people past the new location"
AktieSport
AktieSport uses our GOAD Plans with footfall flows. “If we are offered new premises, the GOAD Plans enable us to assess whether it’s a good spot,” says Peter Heijnen, head of retail operations at the sports chain.
AktieSport has some 150 stores throughout the Netherlands. It regularly
receives proposals for new properties. “We can then check quickly and easily on
the GOAD Plans precisely
where the property is located. We can also check with the
aid of the Footfall
Count what the footfall is like at that location,” explains
Heijnen. Partly on the basis of this data we decide whether to
move an existing store or not. “Naturally we’re not going to move a store if
we found out that fewer people walk past the new location.”
The objective
AktieSport also refers to Locatus’ data when opening a new store “The Locatus data enables us to generate an empty spaces map so we can identify where there might be scope for a new store. We also need to know what other shops are nearby. Of, for example, there are leading market players at the location we have in mind, it might be a good spot for a new store.”
Why Locatus?
Heijnen is pleased with the data provided by Locatus. “They supply us with sound information and I use it every week. Whenever I hear about a new location, I check it out immediately.”
